Brayton v. Pawlenty
Legal Aid files Brayton v. Pawlenty, challenging the Governor’s use of the unallotment statute to balance the budget, which included elimination of the Special Diet Program used by low-income Minnesotans to meet medically-required diet needs. The Minnesota Supreme Court held the Governor’s action exceeded his authority. The special diet funds were reinstated. 2009
