Seniors
Legal Aid attorneys of our Senior Law Project (SLP) provide civil legal services to adults, 60 years of age and older, with a focus on seniors with the greatest social and economic need.
We assist eligible clients with a variety of civil legal issues, including:
- Elder abuse
- Assisted living and nursing home discharges
- Public benefits
- Food support
- Cash assistance
- Social Security
- Unemployment denials
- Public health insurance coverage such as Medical Assistance denials
- Reduction of home care services
- Debtor/creditor issues
We also partner with Legal Aid’s Pro Bono team to provide monthly Wills Clinics to help eligible clients get Power of Attorney forms, wills, Health Care Directives and Transfer on Death Deeds for free.
