Legal help that changes lives
We provide free civil legal services to people with low incomes in central Minnesota through offices in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, and Willmar. Our experienced lawyers offer a range of services including: educating clients about their rights, advocating on their behalf to government agencies, and representing clients in court on a variety of legal issues. Our services are individualized according to each person’s unique situation and need.
Our legal support keeps families safe, prevents homelessness, and protects consumers. With legal help, our neighbors can work toward citizenship, maintain economic stability, and keep their kids in school.
Who We Serve
Anyone living in our service area who has a low income or is at least 60 years of age.
Where We Serve
We offer services for people in 20 central Minnesota counties with offices located in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, and Willmar. We serve seniors in the additional counties of Anoka, Cass, Crow Wing, Kanabec, Pine, and Wadena counties.
We do not offer legal help for criminal cases. If you are charged with a crime, you should ask for a public defender.

Support our work.
Legal Aid could not exist without the generous support of volunteers, community partners, and financial supporters like you. Our federal and state support does not keep pace with the rapidly growing need for legal services. Your contributions are critical to providing access to justice for our neighbors who cannot afford a lawyer.
