Legal Aid votes to unionize

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (Minneapolis, Minn.) — Today, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid learned staff voted in favor of joining AFSCME Council 5. In response to the vote, MMLA issued the following statement:

“Legal Aid exists to provide free lawyers and advocates to those in our community who need them most. We cannot do that without a healthy workforce. We look forward to working together, all of us, leadership, union members and staff, as we continue to build Legal Aid into a nonprofit law firm ready to advance its mission through its next 100 years.”
