FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (St. Cloud, Minn.) — The twelfth annual Access to Justice luncheon, benefiting Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid in St. Cloud, will spotlight former Minnesota statehouse representative Mindy Greiling. In her address, Greiling will share insights about her family’s struggle with schizophrenia.

Amid a community of legal aid supporters, she will draw on both her efforts to advance action on mental health initiatives at the legislature, where she served for 20 years, and her memoir, “Fix What You Can: Schizophrenia and a Lawmaker’s Fight for Her Son.”

Demand for legal aid far outpaces capacity to serve all who seek help. Donations at this event make it possible for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid to give more people with few resources greater access to justice in St. Cloud. Virtual access to court hearings and travel to rural Minnesota via the Justice Bus—Legal Aid’s mobile legal aid office-—are some of the ways community support extends reach.

All are welcome to attend this free event event.

Please RSVP to Barb O’Connell at boconnell@mylegalaid.org by Monday, Oct. 9. Also see all details for this event, including ways to give, by visiting https://tinyurl.com/stcloudluncheon23.

After the program, Ms. Greiling will have books available for purchase, which she will gladly sign. Guests are welcome to arrive, book in hand, for signing as well.
