FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (St. Cloud, Minn.) — Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid is pleased to announce esteemed attorney E. Michelle Drake will be the keynote speaker at the annual Access to Justice Dinner, Thursday, Oct. 8.

Founder of the Minneapolis law offices of Berger Montague, Drake remarkably directed her office to halt regular firm operations to pursue urgent immigration work during Operation Metro Surge.

“We cannot adequately express what Berger Montague’s partnership, and Michelle Drake’s leadership, have meant to the clients and advocates of Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid. During Operation PARRIS, Michelle stood alongside Legal Aid, our clients, and a broad coalition of attorneys and advocates in challenging a profound injustice. Her commitment, skill, and willingness to take on this fight helped protect countless individuals and families from devastating harm. We hope you will join us at our annual dinner to hear Michelle share her reflections on this important work and the continuing pursuit of justice.” – Litigation Director, Luke Grundman

Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid extends this invitation to the public and to the legal community to hear Ms. Drake and to celebrate our Access to Justice honoree, Elizabeth Ann Hayden, retired judge of the Seventh Judicial District.

Dinner reservations are free for this fundraiser and will be accepted through Wednesday, Sept. 28, as will donations and sponsorship offers. With RSVP submitted, please mark calendars to attend the dinner, Thursday, Oct. 8.
