Abuse & Neglect
We help clients with disabilities whose health or safety is at risk because of abuse (physical and sexual assault, chemical or physical restraint, seclusion) and/or neglect (failure to provide adequate medical care, required supervision, etc.). We also help clients who are financially exploited and those whose residential/treatment providers are not providing or are denying access to critical care or supports.
Our disability law team conducts monitoring visits to facilities where persons with disabilities reside, learn or receive services. We also conduct investigations when we have probable cause that abuse or neglect has occurred in a program or facility serving a group of individuals with disabilities. We are not typically able to take on cases solely for money damages related to abuse and neglect.
