Deputy Director

Yasin Alsaidi oversees Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid’s justice mission in St. Cloud and Willmar. He ascended to this role in November of 2024, having first joined MMLA in October 2020 in these same offices where he had since represented clients of our housing unit, medical legal partnership clinic with CentraCare and with our senior law project. Before embarking on a career in law, Yasin worked in higher education, most recently, as Dean of Admissions at New England College. Among his many achievements prior to joining MMLA, he’s proudest of having enrolled a record number of students from diverse backgrounds at NEC. Yasin is a firm believer in contributing to his community. He serves on the Central Minnesota United Way, Partners for Student Success advisory board; is a member of both the Sauk Rapids Lions Club and the St. Cloud Rotary Club. He is a lifetime fellow of the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship and an alum of the Humphrey Institute of Public Policy. Yasin is a graduate of the Vermont Law School and also earned his Master of Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota Hubert Humphrey School. He resides in Sauk Rapids.
