Legal Services Advocacy Project
Championing the rights of lowest-income and marginalized Minnesotans is our team of Legal Aid attorneys dedicated to the Legal Services Advocacy Project (LSAP).
LSAP policy work:
- Focuses on housing rights, economic security, food justice, family stability, consumer protection and health issues.
- Is supported by all regional civil legal services programs in Minnesota.
LSAP advocacy means:
- Protection and expansion of access to public programs
- Better access to health care
- Protection for older and vulnerable adults in assisted living
- Access to universal free school meals for children
- Increased protection for victims of violence and abuse
- Improved access to hunger resources
- Increased rights for homeowners in foreclosure
- Improved tenants’ rights
- Improved program access and services for Minnesotans with disabilities
- Stronger protections against predatory lending and consumer scams
- Banned school suspensions and seclusion for K-3 students
- Stronger utility consumer protections
- Increased training and employment opportunities
